HGV Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join their busy workshop in Bristol . You will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring the fleet remains in optimal working condition. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on HGV vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and steering system repairs.
• Carry out pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for testing.
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out on vehicles.
• Ensure a high standard of workshop safety and cleanliness.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar mechanical role.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with relevant tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of HGV regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Possession of a valid driving license; HGV license is advantageous.
