Job Description
HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £50,000
Hours: Average 45 hours per week
Shifts: Rotating early and late shifts
Week 1: Monday-Friday, 06:00-15:00
Week 2: Monday 13:00-22:00 | Tuesday-Friday 11:00-20:00
Job Type: Full Time | Permanent
The Role
We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Birmingham.
You'll carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs, working with modern equipment and to manufacturer and DVSA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Mechanical and electrical diagnostics
- Vehicle inspections and MOT preparation
- Repair and replacement of components
- Completing job cards and workshop records
- Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
- Working as part of a skilled workshop team
Requirements
- Previous HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification desirable
- HGV Class 1/2 licence and dealership experience advantageous
