Milk Education is working with a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Leeds who are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join their teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA who enjoys supporting teaching and learning, delivering interventions, and leading whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and confidently cover classes when required
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to raise pupil attainment
- Work alongside teachers to plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEN
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain an engaging learning environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applicants who have:
- HLTA Status or an equivalent qualification
- Recent experience working within a primary school
- Confidence delivering lessons across different year groups
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting pupils and staff
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
