Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a full-time supply basis for the Autumn Term at a small specialist school in Houghton-le-Spring (DH4) .
Role Details
- Position: HLTA
- Location: Houghton-le-Spring (DH4)
- Duration: Full Autumn Term
- Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 3:00pm
Role and Responsibilities
The role will involve working within a class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) . Although the pupils are secondary age (12-13 years old), they are working at an EYFS and Key Stage 1 level , making previous experience within primary or early years settings highly beneficial.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive specialist school and make a genuine difference to pupils\' learning and development throughout the Autumn Term.
Ideal Candidate
- Hold HLTA status or have equivalent experience.
- Have experience working with pupils with autism and additional needs.
- Be confident delivering lessons and leading small groups.
- Be patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships.
- Have experience within EYFS and/or KS1 settings.
