Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Greenwich, London
Salary: £110 - £130 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Contract: Temporary; full-time availability preferred, working pattern to be agreed
Start date: 05/10/2026
Hours: Term time - 8:30 - 3:30 - school day
Are you confident taking the lead in a classroom and helping pupils make progress in smaller groups? Transparency Education is seeking two HLTAs for primary school opportunities in Greenwich.
These roles combine classroom cover with focused learning support. You will use teachers’ plans, adapt activities where appropriate and feed back on pupils’ progress so that support remains joined up.
Responsibilities
- Deliver planned lessons and activities during agreed class-cover sessions
- Run small-group interventions linked to classroom learning
- Use questioning and observation to check understanding
- Adjust resources for pupils who need additional support or challenge
- Reinforce consistent behaviour expectations
- Liaise with teachers about outcomes and the next steps for pupils
Requirements
- HLTA status or equivalent demonstrable higher-level teaching-assistant experience
- Experience leading learning in a primary setting
- Strong organisation and confidence managing whole-class activities
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one.
