Hire Controller
Salary: up to £35,000
We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Plant Hire & Transport Coordinator to join our client, covering two plant hire sites.
This is a varied role combining customer service, plant and tool hire, sales, transport planning and driver coordination.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle customer enquiries in person, by phone and email.
* Process plant, tool and equipment hire orders and sales.
* Coordinate daily driver schedules and deliveries.
* Manage driver performance, holiday schedules and timekeeping.
* Ensure vehicles are serviced and MOTs are completed on time.
* Maintain stock and keep the shop/yard clean, organised and safe.
* Assist with deliveries during busy periods.
* Maintain high standards of health & safety, customer service and operational performance.
* Monitor and improve KPIs.
* Support promotional events and new product initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience in plant hire, tool hire, logistics, transport or a similar environment is desirable.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Strong organisational and planning abilities.
* Good IT skills and attention to detail.
* Able to prioritise workloads and solve problems effectively.
* Confident working independently and as part of a team.
* Reliable, proactive and accountable.
* Willing to learn about new products and services.
