About The Role
Pay details: Level 4 (SCP 14-19) + Special School Allowance £30,515 - £33,119 pro rata
Day/ Hours per week: 32.5 hours – 5 day, 39 weeks per year
Main place of work: St Cyres Comprehensive School
Description: To provide support for Physical and Medical pupils across all schools within the Vale of Glamorgan. Ensuring they have access to the curriculum and acting as a practical assistant during lessons as required. You will also need to provide support to all teachers and specialists involved.
About You
You will need:
- Previous and recent experience working in primary or secondary schools.
- Experience of supporting cyp with physical difficulties, complex medical needs and/or long-term health conditions.
- Previous experience of implementing learning strategies, such as therapy programmes or personalised learning activities under professional guidance.
- Previous experience of assisting with planning, monitoring and evaluation of pupils work.
- Previous experience of working with a range of IT software programmes, communication aids and/or adapting equipment to support access to learning.
- Strong understanding of ALN, in particular to physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory needs and how these impact learning and participation.
- Able to demonstrate effective working ways with pupils and promote and inclusive classroom practice.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and manual handling requirements
- Knowledge of different key stage programmes.
- Working knowledge of safeguarding arrangements in school environment
- Able to communicate and liaise with school staff, parents and LA staff.
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong ability to follow medical instructions
