Home Manager Location: Worthing, West Sussex Salary: £60,000 to £65,000, with flexibility up to £70,000 for an exceptional nurse-qualified candidate Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible working pattern

We are recruiting for an experienced and quality-focused Home Manager to lead a well-established, 33-bed nursing home in Worthing.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a stable, well-supported service with a Good CQC rating, an established nursing team and a positive resident and family culture. The current manager is retiring, creating an excellent opening for a manager who is passionate about compliance, governance and delivering outstanding standards of care.

About the home Well-established 33-bed nursing home Located in Worthing, West Sussex Rated Good by CQC Stable, supportive and well-staffed environment No challenging behaviour or mental-health provision Clear processes in place to ensure resident and family concerns are managed appropriately and professionally Well staffed Nursing team No expectation for the Home Manager to provide routine clinical coverThe role As Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful day-to-day running of the home. This is an ideal role for a manager who enjoys the operational and governance side of care home management, while maintaining a highly visible and supportive presence for residents, families and staff.

You will be responsible for:

Leading, motivating and developing a committed care and nursing team Maintaining and improving the home’s CQC compliance and quality standards Driving strong governance, auditing and quality assurance processes Managing safeguarding, health and safety, risk and regulatory requirements Overseeing staffing, rotas, recruitment, supervision and appraisal processes Building positive relationships with residents, relatives, professionals and stakeholders Managing complaints and concerns professionally, fairly and promptly Supporting occupancy, financial performance and the home’s local reputation Working closely with the owners and external compliance support to deliver continuous improvement Ensuring care remains person-centred, dignified and responsive at all timesAbout you We are looking for an experienced Home Manager with a proven track record of leading a successful residential or nursing care service.

You will ideally have:

At least three to four years’ experience in a Home Manager or equivalent senior leadership position Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, compliance, governance and auditing A demonstrable history of achieving positive inspection outcomes and driving service improvement Excellent organisational skills and confidence with office-based management responsibilities Experience in people management, including recruitment, performance management and team development The confidence to manage sensitive conversations with relatives and external professionals A calm, professional and solutions-focused leadership style A genuine commitment to high-quality, person-centred careA nurse qualification is preferred, particularly for candidates seeking the upper end of the salary range. However, strong non-nurse Home Managers with an excellent compliance, operational and leadership background will be considered.
