About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Horticultural Operations Supervisor to lead their horticultural team in Glasgow, Scotland . This role involves the day-to-day supervision of horticultural activities, ensuring the highest standards in plant cultivation, grounds maintenance, and landscape management. You will be responsible for managing a team of gardeners and groundskeepers, overseeing planting schedules, pest control, and irrigation systems. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of horticultural staff, providing guidance and training.
• Oversee the implementation of planting plans, garden maintenance schedules, and landscape projects.
• Manage irrigation systems, fertilization programs, and pest and disease control measures.
• Ensure the health and vitality of plants, trees, and lawns across the managed areas.
• Maintain horticultural tools, equipment, and storage areas in good working order.
• Monitor budgets for horticultural supplies and labour, ensuring efficient resource use.

Requirements

• Proven experience in professional horticulture or groundskeeping, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plant identification, cultivation techniques, and garden design principles.
• Experience with irrigation systems , pest management, and soil conditioning.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• Relevant horticultural qualification (e.g., NVQ, RHS Diploma) is a plus.
• Understanding of health and safety practices in a horticultural setting.
