About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Horticultural Specialist to join their team in Cardiff , contributing to the development and maintenance of diverse horticultural projects across public and private estates. This role involves a blend of practical horticultural expertise and advisory services, focusing on plant health, sustainable cultivation techniques, and landscape design integration. You will work collaboratively with landscape architects, groundskeepers, and project managers to ensure the highest standards of horticultural excellence and biodiversity. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive planting and maintenance schedules for horticultural sites.
• Provide expert advice on plant selection, soil management, pest and disease control, and sustainable growing methods.
• Conduct regular site assessments to monitor plant health and overall garden performance.
• Assist in the design and planning of new horticultural features and landscape projects.
• Manage and mentor junior horticultural staff and volunteers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Qualification in Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in professional horticulture, garden design, or estates management.
• In-depth knowledge of plant species, their cultivation requirements, and ecological interactions.
• Experience with organic and sustainable gardening practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with occasional travel within Cardiff and surrounding areas.
