About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Horticulturalist to manage their advanced greenhouse operations near Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role involves the meticulous care and cultivation of a diverse range of plants, ensuring optimal growing conditions, pest and disease management, and efficient resource allocation. You will work collaboratively with the wider agricultural team, contributing expertise in plant science and greenhouse technology to produce high-quality horticultural products. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate horticulturalist to work in a modern facility, with some flexibility in work location.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations within the greenhouse, including climate control, irrigation, and fertilization.
- Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases, and implement effective control measures.
- Manage propagation, cultivation, and harvesting cycles for various plant species.
- Maintain detailed records of plant growth, environmental conditions, and operational activities.
- Collaborate with the team on research and development for new plant varieties and cultivation techniques.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in greenhouse management and plant cultivation.
- Strong knowledge of plant physiology, pest/disease identification, and control methods.
- Familiarity with greenhouse environmental control systems and hydroponic/aquaponic systems is a plus.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail for managing plant care schedules.
