Horticulturalist - Landscape Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Horticulturalist with a passion for Landscape Design to join their team in Bradford . This part-time, hybrid role involves contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of beautiful and sustainable outdoor spaces. You will work closely with landscape architects, providing horticultural expertise, selecting appropriate plant species, and overseeing planting and care. Your role is crucial in bringing design concepts to life and ensuring the long-term health and beauty of the landscapes we create.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with landscape designers to select suitable plant species based on site conditions, aesthetic goals, and maintenance requirements.
• Develop planting plans and garden designs, considering seasonal interest, biodiversity, and ecological benefits.
• Oversee the implementation of planting schemes, ensuring correct horticultural practices are followed.
• Provide guidance on plant care, soil improvement, pest and disease management for established landscapes.
• Conduct site visits to assess plant health, advise on maintenance, and identify areas for improvement.
• Source high-quality plants and materials from reputable suppliers.

Requirements

• Qualification in Horticulture, Landscape Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in plant selection, cultivation, and garden design.
• Strong knowledge of a wide range of plant species, their characteristics, and growing requirements.
• Understanding of basic landscape design principles and the ability to interpret design plans.
• Excellent observational skills and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
