About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Hospital Cleaning Technician to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and infection control within a healthcare setting in Liverpool . This role is critical in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, requiring strict adherence to specialized cleaning protocols and a deep understanding of infection prevention. You will work as part of a vital support team, using advanced cleaning techniques and disinfectants to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections and contribute to the overall well-being of the hospital community.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specialized cleaning and disinfection duties in patient rooms, operating theatres, common areas, and other clinical environments according to established protocols.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including specialized infection control machinery and waste management systems.
• Adhere strictly to hospital infection control policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations and the safe handling of biohazardous waste.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and correct usage of chemicals.
• Conduct routine checks and report any cleanliness issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on the latest infection control practices and cleaning technologies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cleaning, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Thorough understanding of infection control principles, hygiene standards, and the safe disposal of clinical waste.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Good communication skills and a compassionate, professional attitude towards patients and staff.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, and performing manual cleaning tasks.
