Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of a housing association in Nottingham for an experienced Housing Support Officer to join their team on a 4-month ongoing contract.
As a Housing Support Officer, you will provide practical housing-related support to residents, helping them maintain their tenancies, address housing issues and access appropriate services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide housing-related support to residents to help sustain their tenancies.
Manage a caseload and complete regular support sessions and assessments.
Identify residents' needs and agree appropriate support plans.
Assist residents with tenancy responsibilities and housing-related issues.
Support residents to access benefits, welfare and other relevant services.
Liaise with housing teams, local authorities and external support agencies.
Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.
Maintain accurate case notes and support records.
Respond to resident concerns and emerging housing issues.
Support residents with referrals, appointments and practical housing matters.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a responsive support service.About You:
The successful Housing Support Officer will have:
Previous experience as a Housing Support Officer, Housing Support Worker, Housing Officer or in a similar role.
Experience supporting vulnerable residents.
Knowledge of tenancy sustainment and housing-related support.
Good understanding of safeguarding and referral processes.
Experience working with external agencies and support services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic and professional approach.
Strong organisational and caseload management skills.
Good IT and administration skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.A background in social housing, supported housing, homelessness or tenancy sustainment would be advantageous.
