Housing Support Worker - Edinburgh

Contract Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week (Temp to Perm opportunity)

Shift Pattern: 24/7 rota across earlies, lates, waking nights, and sleepovers (flexible patterns considered)

About the Roles

Are you energetic, reliable, and passionate about helping people live fulfilling lives? We are recruiting Full-Time Support Workers for high quality services across Edinburgh on behalf of our client, Wheatley Care.

These roles offer a fantastic temp to perm opportunity, giving you immediate start options as an agency worker with a structured pathway into a permanent contract.

We have positions across three distinct Edinburgh locations:

• Moodie Walk (EH17): 24/7 supported accommodation caring for adults with severe learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

• Beaverbank Place (Broughton/Canonmills): Supported living environment assisting adults with physical or mental health needs and those in substance misuse recovery.

• Bolton Place (EH16): Specialized support service assisting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering person centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing, personal goals, and informed choices.

• Encouraging active community participation, including local outings, socialising, and trips to venues or pubs.

• Helping residents access health, welfare, and local support services.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

• Assisting with daily living skills, maintaining accurate support records, and managing personal care or medication safely.

Who We Are Looking For

• Caring, energetic, and proactive individuals committed to helping others achieve their potential.

• Strong communicators capable of building positive relationships while maintaining strict professional boundaries.

• Ideal background: Previous experience as a Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant in Learning Disabilities, Autism, Epilepsy, or Complex Needs.

• Alternative background: Open to candidates with strong customer focused experience, as full induction and training are provided.

• Bonus qualifications: Moving & Handling, Medication Administration, or Emergency/Rescue Medication training (desirable, not essential).
