HSE Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic HSE Manager to lead their Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives in a fully remote capacity. This senior role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive HSE policies and programs across the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and fostering a proactive safety culture. You will work closely with leadership teams, operational staff, and external bodies to maintain the highest standards of HSE performance. This is a critical leadership opportunity for an individual passionate about creating safe and sustainable working environments, working entirely remotely from their preferred location within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system.
• Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable national and international HSE legislation and standards.
• Advise senior management on HSE matters, strategies, and potential risks.
• Foster a strong, positive HSE culture throughout the organization, promoting employee engagement in safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HSE management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Professional qualifications such as CMIOSH or equivalent are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation, best practices, and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful HSE strategies and programs.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence effectively remotely.
