HV Commissioning Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join its nationwide team, working on switchgear, circuit breaker and relay commissioning projects across the UK and occasionally overseas.

This is a hands‑on position suited to an engineer who is confident working independently on site and has strong experience with HV systems, switchgear and protection relays.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission new and existing HV electrical systems, switchgear and protection relays
• Installation, modification, maintenance and repair of MV & HV switchgear and circuit breakers
• Work primarily with ABB switchgear and relays, alongside equipment from other manufacturers
• Carry out testing, commissioning and fault‑finding activities
• Ensure systems meet the required technical and safety standards
• Travel nationwide to client sites, with occasional overseas projects
• Work safely and professionally at all times
• Use company‑provided test equipment and Arc Flash PPE

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an HV/MV Commissioning Engineer
• Strong experience with HV switchgear, circuit breakers and protection relays
• ABB switchgear and relay experience highly advantageous
• Comfortable working nationwide and travelling overseas when required
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload on site
• Relevant HV authorisations, qualifications and safety training
• Strong understanding of HV testing and commissioning procedures
