About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join their building services team in Plymouth . This role focuses on the design, specification, and implementation of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for a range of commercial and industrial projects. You will play a crucial part in ensuring efficient, comfortable, and compliant building environments. This position requires a strong understanding of HVAC principles and their application in modern building design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC systems, including calculations for load, air, and water flow.
- Specify HVAC equipment, components, and controls, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for tender and construction.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing systems and installation progress.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants on HVAC-related matters.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant building codes, standards, and sustainability targets.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in HVAC or Building Services.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC system design and engineering.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, IES VE).
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and air conditioning principles.
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations and standards (e.g., CIBSE).
- Good communication and coordination skills for effective team collaboration.
