Hygiene Operative - Food Production

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Hygiene Operative to ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness and sanitation within their food production facility in Sunderland . This critical role involves maintaining a hygienic environment that is paramount to food safety and product quality. You will be responsible for implementing and adhering to strict cleaning schedules and protocols, utilising specialised cleaning agents and equipment. The successful candidate will be committed to upholding the highest levels of hygiene, working collaboratively with the production team to ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks on production lines, machinery, and general facility areas according to schedule.
• Utilise appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively to sanitise surfaces and equipment.
• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with HACCP, BRC, and other relevant food safety standards.
• Monitor and report any hygiene issues, potential hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of all cleaning activities, including chemical usage and sanitation validation.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in food hygiene and safety.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a hygiene or cleaning role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
• Good understanding of food safety principles, HACCP, and cleaning chemical handling.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to strict cleaning protocols in Sunderland .
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual cleaning tasks, including working in potentially wet or cold environments.
• A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
