In-House Counsel - Commercial Litigation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated In-House Counsel specializing in Commercial Litigation to join their legal department in Birmingham . This role is essential for managing and resolving a wide array of disputes, protecting the company's legal and commercial interests. You will be responsible for overseeing litigation strategy, working closely with external counsel, and advising internal stakeholders on risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with external legal advisors.
• Advise business units on legal risks associated with commercial disputes and potential claims.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare court documents as necessary.
• Negotiate settlements and explore alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Maintain accurate records of litigation activities and provide regular reports to senior management.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales with at least 4 years' PQE.
• Demonstrable experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure rules and evidence.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
