In-House Counsel - Corporate Law

About the Role

Our client seeks a driven and experienced In-House Counsel to join their legal department in Birmingham . This role is crucial for supporting the company's commercial operations and corporate governance. You will work closely with various departments, providing expert legal guidance on a wide array of business matters, including contracts, compliance, and corporate structuring. This hybrid position offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility, ideal for a legal professional seeking dynamic exposure within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and advise on a variety of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer contracts, and licensing agreements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements across the business operations.
• Support the company secretary function and advise on corporate governance matters, including board meetings and statutory filings.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on potential risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with external counsel on specialized legal issues as required.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 5 years' experience in corporate or commercial law.
• Strong understanding of contract law and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
