In-House Counsel - Corporate Law

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham , is seeking a talented In-House Counsel to join their legal department. This role offers the unique opportunity to work across various legal disciplines, supporting the company's operational and strategic objectives. You will be instrumental in providing pragmatic legal advice, managing contractual relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation. Key Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, licensing, and partnership deals.
• Advise on corporate law matters, including company formations, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Ensure compliance with UK and international regulations, including data protection and employment law.
• Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes, working with external counsel when necessary.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk across the business.
• Support the business development team with legal aspects of new market entries and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 4 years' experience.
• Strong grounding in corporate and commercial law , gained either in private practice or in-house.
• Experience in contract drafting and negotiation is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercially focused legal advice.
• Excellent understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Membership of a relevant professional body and adherence to professional conduct rules.
