In-House Counsel (Technology)

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic technology company, is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join their legal team based in Manchester . This role is crucial in providing comprehensive legal support across a variety of business functions, with a particular emphasis on technology, intellectual property, and commercial contracts. You will play a key part in advising on legal risks, ensuring compliance, and supporting the company's innovative product development and global expansion efforts. Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements (e.g., SaaS, licensing, IP).
• Manage intellectual property portfolio, including trademark and patent registrations and enforcement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and other relevant legislation.
• Support business development and sales teams with contract review and negotiation.
• Conduct legal research and provide guidance on emerging legal issues impacting the technology sector.
• Assist with corporate legal matters as required by the business.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister admitted in England and Wales.
• Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience, preferably with a strong background in technology law and commercial contracts.
• Experience in intellectual property law and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into legal advice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
