In-House Counsel

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and versatile In-House Counsel to join their legal team, operating with a hybrid model from their offices in Reading . This role is crucial for providing broad legal support across the organisation, covering commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. You will be instrumental in managing day-to-day legal matters, advising senior management, and ensuring the company operates within legal boundaries. Key Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
• Provide legal advice on corporate matters, including company formations, director duties, and compliance.
• Assist in managing litigation and disputes, liaising with external counsel as needed.
• Ensure the company complies with all relevant UK laws and regulations, including data protection and health & safety.
• Support the legal aspects of business projects and operational initiatives.
• Develop and update legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk.

Requirements

• A qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Broad experience in commercial law and general corporate practice is essential.
• Strong understanding of UK legal frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a hybrid working setting.
