About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing company in Derby , is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join their legal department. This versatile role will involve providing comprehensive legal support across various business functions, including commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance, and dispute resolution. You will work closely with senior management and other departments, offering practical and strategic legal advice to support the company's objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes and claims effectively.
• Support business development activities and transactional work.
• Provide proactive legal risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 5 years' PQE, ideally with experience in both private practice and in-house roles.
• Broad knowledge of commercial law, corporate law, and compliance.
• Experience in contract negotiation and management is essential.
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business operations in Derby .
