About the Role
Our client, a dynamic and growing commercial organization, is seeking a proactive In-House Counsel to join their legal team based in Reading . This role involves providing comprehensive legal support across a range of business activities, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. You will work closely with various departments, offering practical and strategic legal advice to support the company's objectives. This is a key position within the organization, offering significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence business decisions in a fast-paced environment in Reading .
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements and contracts.
- Provide legal advice and support on corporate matters, including governance and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and new initiatives.
- Manage external legal counsel relationships and associated costs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
- Stay current with relevant legislation and regulatory changes affecting the business.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in commercial law, contract negotiation, and corporate governance, ideally within an in-house setting.
- Strong understanding of data protection and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in legal research and contract management systems.
