About the Role
Our client, a dynamic and growing commercial enterprise based in Nottingham , is seeking a proactive In-House Legal Counsel specializing in Commercial Contracts . This role is vital for supporting the business's operational needs by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. You will work closely with various departments, including sales, procurement, and operations, to ensure favorable terms and mitigate legal risks. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking company, balancing office collaboration with remote flexibility in the heart of Nottinghamshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, NDAs, and service agreements.
- Provide legal advice on contract interpretation, risk management, and compliance matters.
- Support the sales and procurement teams in their dealings with clients and suppliers.
- Manage contract lifecycles, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Assist with intellectual property matters and general commercial legal queries.
- Develop and implement contract management processes and templates.
Requirements
- A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial contract law.
- Strong track record in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
- Excellent understanding of contract law principles and commercial risk assessment.
- Proactive and business-minded approach to legal problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model , engaging with teams both in-person and remotely.
- Experience working in-house or in a commercial law firm is essential.
