In-House Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing commercial enterprise based in Nottingham , is seeking a proactive In-House Legal Counsel specializing in Commercial Contracts . This role is vital for supporting the business's operational needs by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. You will work closely with various departments, including sales, procurement, and operations, to ensure favorable terms and mitigate legal risks. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, NDAs, and service agreements.
• Provide legal advice on contract interpretation, risk management, and compliance matters.
• Support the sales and procurement teams in their dealings with clients and suppliers.
• Manage contract lifecycles, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
• Assist with intellectual property matters and general commercial legal queries.
• Develop and implement contract management processes and templates.

Requirements

• A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial contract law.
• Strong track record in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
• Excellent understanding of contract law principles and commercial risk assessment.
• Proactive and business-minded approach to legal problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model , engaging with teams both in-person and remotely.
• Experience working in-house or in a commercial law firm is essential.
