In-house Legal Counsel

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and commercially astute In-house Legal Counsel to join their dedicated legal department in Manchester . This office-based role is crucial for providing day-to-day legal support to various business units, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risk across all operations. You will handle a broad spectrum of legal work, from contract drafting to advising on regulatory matters, and will be a key point of contact for internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including sales, procurement, and partnership agreements.
• Advise business teams on legal implications of commercial decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation matters, liaising with external counsel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Develop and deliver legal training to employees on key compliance areas.
• Maintain and update the company's legal documentation and records.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, preferably in-house or within a commercial law firm.
• Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the industry.
• Proven ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build effective working relationships across the organization.
