In-House Legal Counsel

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad spectrum of legal issues, including corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters pertinent to the company's business.
• Review and draft a wide array of contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with business objectives and legal requirements.
• Manage legal aspects of projects, including intellectual property, data protection, and compliance initiatives.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise advice to management and other departments.
• Assist in developing and implementing legal policies and procedures to enhance organisational compliance.
• Oversee external legal counsel engagement when necessary, managing costs and outcomes effectively.

Requirements

• A qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 5 years' experience, ideally with prior in-house experience.
• Strong grounding in commercial law and contract management.
• Familiarity with UK employment law and data privacy regulations (GDPR).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Proficiency in using remote work tools and technologies for seamless collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
