In-house Legal Counsel

About the Role

Our client requires a versatile In-house Legal Counsel to support their operations in Stoke-on-Trent . This role offers broad exposure to a variety of legal matters affecting a commercial enterprise, including contract negotiation, compliance, and general corporate advice. You will work collaboratively with business leaders to provide practical legal solutions that align with commercial objectives. This hybrid position provides a balance between office-based collaboration and the flexibility of remote working, fostering a productive and engaging work environment within the Staffordshire region.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, service level agreements, and supply agreements.
• Advise on employment law, health and safety regulations, and other operational legal matters.
• Manage legal aspects of intellectual property protection and trademark applications.
• Support corporate governance requirements and assist with board meeting preparations.
• Conduct legal research on emerging issues impacting the business.
• Liaise with external counsel when specialized advice or representation is required.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably with in-house exposure.
• Strong understanding of contract law and experience with a variety of commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with intellectual property law and data protection principles.
• Ability to provide pragmatic legal advice in a business context.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with non-legal colleagues in Stoke-on-Trent .
