Job Description:
We are recruiting for an In Work Support Advisor to provide ongoing support to individuals who have recently secured employment through a welfare-to-work programme. This is a rewarding opportunity to help people sustain employment, overcome workplace challenges and progress in their careers.
You will work closely with participants during their first months in employment, providing regular guidance, practical support and interventions to help them successfully retain and develop within their roles. You will also collaborate with employers and Employment Advisors to ensure participants receive the support they need to achieve long-term employment success.
The role involves:
Providing regular support calls and check-ins with participants who have recently started work
Identifying individuals who may be at risk of losing employment and escalating concerns appropriately
Offering practical advice, guidance and problem-solving support to address workplace challenges
Liaising with employers, where appropriate, to help resolve issues and promote positive outcomes
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date participant records in line with contractual and organisational requirements
Monitoring and recording employment changes, including role progression, job changes and job losses
Working collaboratively with Employment Advisors and colleagues across multiple locations
Managing a caseload effectively while working towards performance targets and key performance indicators
Escalating complex cases or concerns to management in a timely and professional mannerYou’ll need:
Experience supporting individuals within employability, welfare-to-work or training
Excellent communication skills with a confident and professional telephone manner
Strong relationship-building, negotiation and influencing skills
The ability to build rapport quickly and provide supportive, person-centred guidance
Experience handling sensitive or challenging situations with professionalism and empathy
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Knowledge of the local labour market, recruitment practices and employment opportunities
Understanding of welfare-to-work programmes and the challenges faced by jobseekers and employees
Experience maintaining accurate records with a high level of attention to detail
The ability to work towards targets and performance measures
A flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to workDue to the nature of this role, you will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
