Income Officer
3-Month Contract | Immediate Start | Hybrid Working
A Surrey based social housing provider is looking for an experienced Income Officer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract with an immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own patch, take ownership of rent arrears cases and make a real impact on income collection and tenancy sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of rent arrears accounts from early intervention through to legal action
Negotiate affordable repayment arrangements with tenants and support them in sustaining their tenancies
Conduct home visits, telephone interviews and correspondence with residents
Provide advice on welfare benefits, Universal Credit and income maximisation
Prepare legal documentation for court proceedings and attend hearings where required
Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to support vulnerable residents
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Deliver a high-quality customer-focused service whilst meeting collection targets
Essential Experience
Previous experience working as an Income Officer, Rent Recovery Officer or similar within social housing
Strong knowledge of rent arrears recovery and tenancy management
Experience dealing with Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and welfare reform
Ability to manage legal action relating to rent arrears and possession proceedings
Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills
Experience managing a busy caseload and prioritising workloads effectively

Hybrid working with a minimum of 50% office attendance
