Indirect Buyer
Location: Greatham, Teesside
Job Type: Permanent

We’re recruiting for an Indirect Buyer to join the Procurement team of a major manufacturing business in Teesside.
You’ll manage a range of indirect spend, including MRO, maintenance, engineering services, facilities and professional services, working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
- Source suppliers and manage RFQs, tenders and negotiations.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HSE and Finance.
- Support contract management and procurement improvements.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in a Buyer, Procurement or Purchasing role.
- Experience working across indirect procurement categories.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial or process environment would be advantageous.
- Strong experience of supplier management, sourcing, tendering and negotiation.
- Commercially aware with the ability to assess cost, quality, service and overall value.
- Confident dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good analytical skills and confidence working with procurement data and Excel.
- Experience using procurement/ERP systems.
- CIPS qualification or working towards one would be advantageous but is not essential.
