Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Automation Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing facility in Reading . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems that enhance production efficiency, safety, and quality. You will work with cutting-edge technology, collaborating with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and drive innovation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in automation hardware and software, with a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission automated control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
- Develop and maintain automation software and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment and systems to minimize downtime.
- Implement new automation technologies and upgrade existing systems to improve performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation projects, from concept to implementation.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in industrial automation , including PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, robotics, and machine vision.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control system design.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
