About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and physically fit Industrial Cleaning Operative to join their dedicated team in Southampton . This role is essential for maintaining the operational readiness and safety of industrial facilities. You will be responsible for performing specialized cleaning tasks, including the safe handling of industrial equipment and cleaning agents. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety protocols and a meticulous approach to ensuring a pristine and functional working environment. This is a hands-on role integral to the smooth running of operations in Southampton .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform industrial cleaning tasks, including degreasing, scrubbing, and sanitising machinery and floors.
• Operate specialized cleaning equipment such as pressure washers and industrial vacuums.
• Handle and dispose of industrial waste and hazardous materials in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report any defects or maintenance needs.
• Follow strict health and safety procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Work collaboratively with site operations teams to minimise disruption during cleaning activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience in industrial cleaning or a similar physically demanding role is preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• A strong understanding of and commitment to health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
