Industrial Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to join their manufacturing operations in Derby, Derbyshire, UK . This role is crucial for maintaining and improving the electrical infrastructure and machinery within their production facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical systems, from power distribution to control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial electrical principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to a safe and productive working environment that values operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting.
• Design, install, and commission new electrical systems and upgrades to plant machinery.
• Ensure all electrical installations and maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations, including BS 7671.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance staff on electrical systems.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial electrical engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial power distribution, motor controls, and PLC systems.
• Experience with electrical testing equipment and fault diagnosis.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation pertaining to electrical work.
