About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Industrial Electrical Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK . This role is crucial for maintaining and improving the electrical infrastructure and automation systems within a busy production environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical equipment, diagnosing and resolving faults, and implementing upgrades to enhance productivity and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong practical understanding of industrial electrical systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations on production machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Install, program, and maintain PLCs , HMIs, and other automation systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Conduct regular electrical safety inspections and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Assist in the design and implementation of minor electrical modifications and upgrades.
Requirements
- Apprenticeship or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience (3+ years) working as an Industrial Electrician or Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems on production machinery.
- Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley) and industrial controls.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to industrial electrical work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
