About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Automation to join their team in Plymouth . This role is critical in evaluating, designing, and implementing automated systems and processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for automation, select appropriate technologies, and manage implementation projects. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for automation within manufacturing and operational processes.
• Design, specify, and oversee the implementation of automated systems, including robotics, PLC controls, and material handling solutions.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of new automated equipment.
• Develop and maintain documentation for automated systems, including P&IDs, control logic, and maintenance procedures.
• Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analyses for proposed automation projects.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing automated processes to improve performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong focus on automation and robotics.
• Proficiency with PLC programming , SCADA systems, and industrial control networks.
• Experience with robotic programming and integration.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and how automation can enhance them.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills for implementation in Plymouth .
