About the Role
Our client is seeking an expert Industrial Engineer with a specialization in automation to join their advanced manufacturing team in Cambridge . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within their operations. You will work closely with R&D, engineering, and production teams to integrate cutting-edge automation technologies, from robotic systems to smart manufacturing solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems, including robotic cells, conveyors, and control systems.
- Evaluate and select appropriate automation technologies and equipment to meet project objectives and budget constraints.
- Develop and execute testing and commissioning plans for new automated systems.
- Optimize existing automated processes for improved throughput, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automation solutions.
- Develop and deliver training on the operation and maintenance of automated equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong focus on automation, robotics, and control systems.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and various robotic platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts and smart manufacturing technologies is highly desirable.
