About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to focus on facilities and operations optimization, working remotely to support their sites, including those in Plymouth, Devon . This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyze operational workflows, facility layouts, and resource allocation to drive efficiency and reduce costs. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing best practices that enhance productivity and safety across various operational environments, often interacting with teams located at different physical sites. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to drive change through remote collaboration and data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze facility layouts, material flow, and workflow processes to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
- Develop and implement strategies for space utilization, material handling systems, and operational sequencing.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and safety reviews to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with site management and operational teams to implement process improvements and track their effectiveness.
- Utilize simulation and modeling tools to test proposed changes and predict operational outcomes.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in industrial engineering , with a focus on facilities planning, operations analysis, and workflow optimization.
- Proven ability to analyze and improve physical layouts and material flow.
- Experience with CAD software for layout design and simulation tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience in remote team collaboration.
- Understanding of safety regulations and ergonomic principles in industrial settings.
