Industrial Engineer - Lean Manufacturing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing principles to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is central to driving continuous improvement initiatives, reducing waste, and enhancing the overall efficiency of our production processes. You will work hands-on with our manufacturing teams, implementing Lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops to drive process enhancements.
• Develop and implement Value Stream Maps (VSMs) to identify waste and optimize material and information flow.
• Implement and sustain 5S workplace organization programs to improve efficiency and safety.
• Train and mentor production staff on Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of implemented Lean initiatives.
• Collaborate with quality and production teams to establish standard work procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a demonstrable focus on Lean Manufacturing.
• Solid understanding and practical application of Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, VSM, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke.
• Experience in analyzing production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Strong facilitation, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with standard manufacturing processes and equipment.
