About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer focused on manufacturing excellence to join their team in Plymouth . This hybrid role involves the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, quality, and cost reduction across the production floor. You will be instrumental in implementing lean principles, optimizing workflows, and ensuring that production activities meet the highest standards. Working collaboratively with production staff and management, you will identify opportunities for innovation and implement best practices to enhance overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Analyze production data to identify root causes of defects, inefficiencies, and waste.
- Develop and implement standardized work instructions, process controls, and best practices.
- Design and optimize plant layouts, material handling systems, and production workflows.
- Train and mentor production personnel on continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and R&D teams to ensure product quality and process consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen) and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with process simulation and data analysis software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive change in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
