Industrial Engineer - Operations Optimization

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Industrial Engineer specializing in Operations Optimization to join their team in Leeds . This role is central to enhancing the efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness of their industrial operations. You will analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and a passion for driving continuous improvement in a challenging industrial setting, contributing to strategic operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production data, workflow patterns, and resource utilization to identify areas for operational improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing plant layout, material flow, and production scheduling.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, to drive efficiency gains.
• Design and implement performance metrics and reporting systems to monitor operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with production managers and frontline staff to ensure smooth implementation of optimized processes.
• Provide technical expertise and support for capital expenditure justifications and equipment selection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of experience in an industrial engineering role focused on operations and process optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with proficiency in data analysis software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of production planning and control systems is preferred.
