About the Role
Our client is seeking an adaptable and analytical Industrial Engineer - Operations Specialist to join their hybrid team in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This role focuses on optimizing operational workflows, enhancing production efficiency, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will balance on-site responsibilities with remote collaboration, analyzing process data, designing workflow improvements, and working closely with production personnel and management. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to drive tangible operational gains, contributing to the plant's overall productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing production processes and operational procedures to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement process enhancements, workflow optimizations, and layout changes to improve throughput and reduce cycle times.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive waste reduction and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Collect and analyze production data, performance metrics, and quality indicators to support decision-making and track improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful implementation of engineering solutions in the Wolverhampton facility.
- Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to management, highlighting the impact of implemented changes on operational performance in the West Midlands region.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial engineering or operations-focused role.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization techniques, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with data analysis, process mapping, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team, managing tasks across remote and on-site settings.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills required for effective stakeholder engagement.
