Industrial Engineer - Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to focus on improving operational efficiency within their state-of-the-art facility in Belfast . This role is integral to optimizing production workflows, enhancing throughput, and reducing operational costs. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to identify and implement solutions that drive performance improvements across various departments. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer with a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and a commitment to achieving measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production capacity, workflow, and facility layout to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and space utilization.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Design and optimize material handling systems, workstations, and assembly lines for maximum efficiency and safety in Northern Ireland .
• Develop and maintain production standards, work measurement studies, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new product introductions, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to maintain smooth production flow.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial engineering role, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events.
• Experience with time and motion studies, work measurement, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with CAD software for layout design and production flow simulation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
