About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on process improvement to join their team in Sunderland . This role is crucial for driving operational efficiency and productivity across their manufacturing and supply chain operations. You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, developing and implementing solutions, and ensuring that all processes adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will be hands-on, analytical, and eager to contribute to a culture of continuous enhancement, working closely with production teams to achieve tangible results and sustainable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analyses of production lines and operational processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement.
- Develop and implement solutions using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve cycle times.
- Create process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs ), and work instructions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to implement process changes.
- Utilize data analysis tools to measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements and report on performance metrics.
- Support the design and layout of new production areas or modifications to existing ones.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial engineering , with a proven track record in process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Value Stream Mapping (VSM ), and Kaizen events.
- Proficiency in using data analysis software such as Excel, Minitab, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage effectively with shop floor personnel.
