Industrial Engineer - Process Optimization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on process optimization to join their expanding operations in Cardiff . This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing the overall productivity of manufacturing processes. You will work hands-on with production teams to analyze current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions that drive tangible results. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions using data-driven approaches.
• Implement lean manufacturing tools and techniques such as 5S, Kanban, and Kaizen events.
• Conduct time studies, line balancing, and ergonomic assessments to optimize workforce utilization and safety.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and line operators to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of practical experience in an Industrial Engineering or process improvement role.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and experience applying them in a production setting.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, Minitab, or similar.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• A proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail in identifying process improvement opportunities.
