Industrial Engineer - Production Planning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Industrial Engineer with expertise in Production Planning to join their team in Sheffield . This role is critical for ensuring efficient and timely production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization. You will analyze production data, develop accurate forecasts, and implement scheduling strategies to enhance throughput and minimize lead times. This hands-on position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and excellent analytical capabilities to drive operational efficiency within a demanding production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet demand forecasts and operational targets.
• Analyze production capacity, resource availability, and potential bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and operations teams to align production plans with business needs.
• Utilize planning software and tools to create optimized production schedules.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address unforeseen issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and reduce production lead times.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning or industrial engineering within manufacturing.
• Proficiency with production scheduling software and ERP/MRP systems .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
