Industrial Engineer - Production Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Industrial Engineer to join their production systems team in Reading . This role is focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing the systems and processes that underpin our manufacturing operations. You will work to ensure that our production lines are efficient, safe, and capable of meeting demand while maintaining high-quality standards. The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing complex workflows, implementing Lean principles, and collaborating with various departments to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes, workflows, and facility layouts to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
• Design and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen events, and continuous flow methodologies.
• Develop and maintain production standards, time studies, and performance metrics for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support new product introductions and process validation in Berkshire .
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Optimize material handling, inventory control, and workstation design for improved productivity and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., VSM, SMED, Kanban).
• Experience with work measurement techniques and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with CAD for layout design and an understanding of ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
