About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is pivotal in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and quality across operations. You will be instrumental in implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. This is a hands-on position for an engineer passionate about making tangible improvements in a fast-paced industrial setting, contributing directly to the company's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current production processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose data-driven solutions for enhancement.
- Design and implement improved workflows, layouts, and material handling systems.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Conduct time and motion studies to optimize work methods and establish performance standards.
- Collaborate with production staff and management to implement process changes and troubleshoot issues.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and 5S programs to reduce waste and improve workplace organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an industrial engineering or process improvement role.
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
- Proficiency in process analysis and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team engagement.
